Geology of the Cascade Mountains in Washington State

The Cascade Mountains are the only active magmatic arc in the contiguous US and are readily accessible. Moreover, in Washington State a fascinating and complex collection of accretionary terranes lies beneath the chain of beautiful but dangerously active andesitic stratovolcanoes.
