This year's Women in Science meeting will focus on the recommendations of two reports on the participation of women in science, one from the US Commission on the Advancement of Women and Minorities in Science, Engineering, and Technology (CAWMSET), and one from the European Technical Assessment Network (ETAN). Speakers include Jill Sideman, a CAWMSET commissioner, and Helga Ebeling, an ETAN commissioner. In addition, Wanda Ward, of the National Science Foundation, will unveil the US government plans for responding to the recommendations of the CAWMSET report. Following the presentations, attendees will have an opportunity to brainstorm about ways they can further the recommendations of these reports in their workplaces. This meeting is hosted by the Global Alliance, composed of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Association for Women in Science, and and Women in Engineering Programs and Advocates Network. This meeting is free and open to the public. If you plan to attend, please fill out the response form and contact Megan Pratt at pratt@awis.org or 202-326-8940.
