Osage Chapter Scholarship
The Osage Chapter scholarship will go to an eligible female undergraduate student from the Osage Chapter area in order to support her research in the geological sciences. Funds may be used for, but are not limited to, field gear, lab analysis, and travel expenses.
General Information:
Award Amount: One or more awards totaling ~$1,000 will be given out each spring to help with the costs of an independent research project for an undergraduate woman pursuing a degree in the geological sciences.
Application Deadline: April 1
Application Criteria and Procedures: The applicant must be:
- A full-time undergraduate student pursuing a degree in the geological sciences in the Osage Chapter area
- The student must be in good academic standing
- The funds must be used towards the completion of a research project
Application procedures:
- The application calls for a written proposal, budget, and timeline of the research to be performed.
- Letters of recommendation and a transcript are also required.
- The student will be expected to give a progress report in the form of a presentation during the AWG brown-bag lunch series at the University of Kansas or publish a written paper or presentation abstract.
