PROJECT TO SENIOR HYDROGEOLOGIST - SAN DIEGO, CA - TETRA TECH EM INC. (EMI)
Tetra Tech EM Inc., a leading environmental and management consulting firm, is seeking a Project to Senior Hydrogeologist to support CERCLA projects in California. Responsibilities include providing technical support for TCRAs, RIs, FSs, PPs, and RODs under CERCLA. Candidate will perform and manage field work, acquisition and interpretation of data, development of recommendations, cost estimates, remedial designs, and preparation of reports. Candidate will interact with clients and regulatory agencies, and manage budgets.
Experience Requirements: Experience in groundwater remediation or water resource development with knowledge of groundwater flow dynamics and contaminant transport. Experience with a variety of methods for monitoring and/or production well installation. Combination of field applications and computer modeling preferred. Desirable to have practical knowledge of traditional and innovative remediation techniques in a variety of geologic settings, with an understanding of multiple disciplines within the environmental field including air quality, soil mechanics, hazardous materials or hazardous waste. Experience with federal cleanup programs such as CERCLA and TSCA. Recent experience in preparing RIs, FSs, PPs, and RODs preferred.
Skill Requirements: Aquifer testing, understanding of structural and soil matrix controls on groundwater flow, production well field and monitoring system design, surface water hydrology and groundwater recharge/discharge analysis, geochemical and biological controls on solute transport, understanding of applicable California and federal regulations. Must have strong technical writing and oral communication skills. Ability to work in a team environment with team members from different disciplines, and manage fast-paced work. Must have 5 to 8 years of applied experience.
Education Requirements: BS in hydrogeology or structural field geology with groundwater training required. MS preferred. Must be a registered geologist in California.
