TECHNICIAN, GEOLOGY DEPARTMENT-P1731 - POMONA COLLEGE Salary: Dependent upon qualifications Regular, full-time, 12-month position Will maintain depts equipment, vehicle, & physical facilities; help organize map & sample collections; assist with classroom & research activities; & preparation/ participation of field trips, including driving, as needed. Infrequently, assistance outside of normal business hours may be required. Since this position involves transportation & lifting of heavy laboratory specimens, field gear, & research equipment, employment is contingent upon a driving record acceptable to the College's automobile liability insurer and successful completion of a functional capacity test. Requires a Master's degree in geology or earth science (or the equivalent combination of education & relevant experience); & strong organizational, communication & interpersonal skills. The ability to work congenially with co-workers in an academic setting is essential, attention to the safe use of equipment & facilities is vital, & the aptitude for mechanical/computing tasks is desirable.
