AWG AWARDS
AWG Professional Excellence Award:These awards will go to women who, throughout their careers, have made distinguished contributions in each of the three following professional areas: Government/regulatory, Private industry/consulting and Academia/research.
Brunton Award: The AWG Brunton Award promotes the future of field mapping and data acquisition for the upcoming generation of women geoscientists.
Chapter Awards: Chapters Awards are presented to those Chapters or programs that best support the goals of the Association.
Distinguished Service Award: Given to an AWG member for exemplary service to AWG.
Honorary Membership: Honorary members are individuals who, in the unanimous opinion of the Executive Committee, have made distinguished contributions to the goals of AWG, which warrant such exceptional recognition.
Outstanding Educator Award: The AWG OEA honors well-established college or university teachers who have played a significant role in the education and support of women geoscientists both within and outside the classroom.
Sand Student Research Presentation Travel Award: This competitive award provides women geoscience students with support to present their research at the Annual Meeting of the Geological Society of America.
Takken Student Research Presentation Travel Award: This competitive award provides women geoscience students with support to present their research at a national or international professional geoscience meeting other than the Annual Meeting of the Geological Society of America.
Winifred Goldring Award: The Winifred Goldring award is presented to an outstanding female student interested in pursuing a career in paleontology.
