Committees Reporting to the Treasurer

FINANCE COMMITTEE- prepare a fiscal budget for approval by the Board of Directors and handle fundraising activities. (Note: in 1995, the Board voted to coordinate fundraising activities in a new committee known as Fundraising - see below.)

 Goals:

  • Budget $2,000 toward savings each year for 5 years; ultimately establish reserve of 25% of annual operating budget
  • Create a Financial Policy Handbook that includes strategy for establishing a reserve fund
  • Non-reimbursed officers expenses should be tracked for possible inclusion into the budget
  • Maintain reimbursement of transportation for officer & member at large travel
  • Timely reimbursement of committee members for pre-approved or valid expenses
  • Create a fiscal reserve of $10,000 to cover annual operating budget for the production of GAEA

Maintain:

  • Maintain fiscal solvency of AWG

FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE- coordinate the solicitation of donations to the AWGF, corporate & institutional memberships, logo products sales, and advertising.

Goals:

  • Develop & implement new income streams
  • Develop database of fundraising efforts (coordinate with AWGF to avoid overlap)

Maintain:

  • Maintain coordination with AWGF
  • Maintain current corporate members

ADVERTISING COORDINATOR- obtain advertising for Association publications.

Goals:

  • Develop directory advertising
  • Bill and track advertising income for Gaea ads
  • Solicit and manage advertisements for publications
  • Coordinate activities in cooperation with the Editor

Maintain:

  • Gaea advertising

PRODUCT SALES COORDINATOR- handle the sales of all products bearing the AWG logo.

Goals:

  • Increase Product Revenues
  • Re-evaluate product line periodically by coordinating with membership to develop new items on a regular basis
  • Coordinate activities in cooperation with the Editor

Maintain:

  • Product sales as income stream
