Association for Women Geoscientists Advertising Information and Rate CardContact the AWG Advertising Editor at ads@awg.org. Rates and deadlines effective starting October 7th, 2008. Advertising with the Association for Women Geoscientists (AWG) provides a cost-effective opportunity for advertisers to target a large audience of women geoscientists. AWG publications reach a diverse audience of 1000 earth science professionals, educators and scholars - both women and men - who are members of the organization, plus corporations and institutions worldwide.

Print Advertising OpportunitiesGaea is the official bimonthly publication of the Association for Women Geoscientists; current circulation is about 1000. Publication of Gaea supports the goals of the Association through the exchange of professional, technical and educational information, including:
Display and column-line advertising in Gaea is available to individuals, businesses, educational institutions and organizations. Additional copies of the September/October issue of Gaea are distributed free at AWG's exhibit booth and at Association events at the Geological Society of America's Annual Meeting. Additional copies of the November/December issue are similarly distributed at the American Geophysical Union's annual meeting.
Display Advertising in GaeaDisplay advertising in the newsletter is charged by fractional page. Multiple insertions are charged at reduced rates; contact the AWG Advertising Editor for details.
Please mail camera-ready black-and-white original for your display advertisement to the AWG Editor (click to see mailing address information, below). To submit a PDF file, send via e-mail to the AWG Editor. Please send billing information to AWG Advertising.
Column-Line Advertising in GaeaAvailable classifications include "Positions Open," "Consultants, Services and Suppliers," "Opportunities for Students" and "Situations Wanted." "Positions Open" and "Consultants, Services and Suppliers" advertisements in Gaea are charged at $7 per line (45 characters per line, including punctuation and blank spaces). Employment opportunities from entry-level through professional, open-ended searches from recruiting firms, and faculty positions beginning at the postdoctoral level are included in the "Positions Open" classification. Pricing is for one position per advertisement. For all advertisers, multiple insertions of the same text will be charged at $5 per line in each sequential issue. Advertising in "Opportunities for Students" includes notices of scholarships, internships, and fellowships. Advertisements placed in this classification are charged at the rate of $3 per 45-character line; multiple insertions of the same text, $2 per line. "Situations Wanted" advertising is available to individual Association members only and is free of charge with a 200-word maximum. To submit column-line classified advertising, please send plain text or a Word document and billing information to AWG Advertising, e-mail preferred. Advertising Deadlines Advertising copy or camera-ready art must be received by the tenth of January, March, May, July, September, November for publication later that month.

E-News: AWG's E-mail News bulletinTo accommodate "Positions Open" advertisements with application deadlines too short to meet Gaea's publication schedule, or in conjunction with print or web advertising, we reach more than 80 percent of our members with direct AWG E-mail News bulletins. "Positions Open" and "Opportunities for Students" are accepted for inclusion in AWG E-mail News. AWG E-mail News bulletins are issued as needed to meet advertiser deadlines, and may also include time-sensitive news items and announcements of interest to Association members as well as other advertisements.
PaymentAds should be accompanied by a check, purchase order, or billing instructions. VISA and Mastercard are accepted. You will be invoiced after your ad has run. Checks should be made payable to AWG. AWG's Employer ID # is: 94-2514192.
